If you’re looking for exciting books, Handcuffs in the Sand from Sarasota, FL, is an explosive adventure through time in the 70s and 80s. Smart young, good-looking kids were caught up in the American Columbian Drug War. These beach kids, valedictorians and college graduates, teamed up with the fishermen and Florida locals to move some of the biggest weight this State has ever seen. Florida residents were oblivious to the boat loads, literally, of weed being brought time to time.

It was an honest story written under difficult circumstances that should serve as a lesson to parents, kids and law enforcement personnel.

It was an unexpected treat to meet the author on Lido Beach in Sarasota, Florida. We had just moved to the area and struck up a conversation with Kathy on the beach. She told us all about the book and even demonstrated some advanced yoga moves. I recommend this book as a fascinating story of her life and journey to better understand herself while incarcerated in federal prison on drug related charges. Happy to say that she seemed content and satisfied with her current law abiding life.
